Mira Gruszow & Gideon Baumblatt:

Two Brains and Four Hands

Mira Gruszow and Gideon Baumblatt: Two brains and four hands

For over a decade, we have been working with our motto that every instrument is planned by two brains and realized by four hands. We will explain the way this came about and how we, our instruments and our business benefit.

In the second part of our presentation, we will talk about our method of inserting arching deformation on the finished white body of the instrument.

After their studies in Cremona and Mittenwald, Mira Gruszow and Gideon Baumblatt worked for workshops in Germany, England and Canada. They are now based in Werder (Germany) and devote themselves entirely to new making. Their instruments have been recognised with numerous awards at international competitions. Mira and Gideon are part of the Klanggestalten group and the VSA, and they have participated in many workshops including Brandenburg, Oberlin and Villefavard.
